GOGOSHA OPTIQUE: FACE OF THE DAY: MONICA DEHARO
Once upon a time (after a grueling day at school), on a cold-for-LA autumn evening, Monica (and posse) strolled in to GOGOSHA OPTIQUE. Her opening statement: “if i have to wear glasses, I at least want them to be special…” After assuring her that she was in the right place, this student/artist/angel (and posse) was ready to play…
…I slowly opened a drawer unfolding the most spectacular of colors, and watched as her face lit up. The expression read “this is what I’ve been looking for”. The “this” being her Kirk Originals: Sylvia: H5, of course! Monica slid them on wearing the same glow Cinderella wore when she slid on the glass slipper and said, “this is it!” What can I say? Sometimes you just know!
GOGOSHA OPTIQUE: FACE OF THE DAY: JOHN STOUT X2
John made the 70 miles round trip to Gogosha Optique with two things burning his brain, he needed amazing new glasses and he couldn’t pull off ‘plastic frames’ … he was was only right about one of these things…
As John walked through the door @ gogosha, he made his ‘plastic fueled pitch’… Julia sized him up and smiled that wry smile of hers, the one that says… be prepared to be amazed…
…and within the hour John was… as he paraded proudly, in not one, but two fantastic frames… one of which is plastic… well ‘Acetate’ - when you are in the presence of our eyewear guru…
John looks amazing in both his SALT CONRAD in ASPHALT and THEO KWARTET 108, proving that being two faced isn’t as bad as it’s cracked up to be :)
GOGOSHA OPTIQUE: FACE OF THE DAY: NATALIE HOWE
Oh Orgreen, oh how we fancy thee! We fancy your talent for making a simple idea look fantastic with perfect temple design and perfect color for the perfect face. Natalie looks undeniably fantastic in her Orgreen: Pussycat: in color 5. Ah, perfection!
GOGOSHA OPTIQUE: Frame of the Day
Series: Belle Du Jour
Origin: London, England UK
Designer: Marie Wilkinson
Frame: 692 ROCK
Color: Crystal
Material: Acetate
Why we’re loving this frame: Like the beautiful frozen poles of our planet, this frame has an exotic landscape of minute peaks and troughs — not carved by ancient glaciers but by a craftsman’s talented hand. A true specimen of design innovation and execution that boggles the minds eye.
GOGOSHA OPTIQUE FACE OF THE DAY: PETER BESSON
Some bespectacled people can’t look nerdy. They just can’t.
Myself I don’t know how to look any other way, but Peter defies every eyewear stereotype, looking effortlessly cool in his MYKITA FRANCIS in GRAPHITE.
GOGOSHA OPTIQUE: FACE OF THE DAY: GAIL LAGUNA
Only the priveledged few can achieve the task of making crystals look like diamonds. Many have tried and failed but Gail has achieved the tall task. She looks phenomenal in her fantastic new Anne et Valentin: Roy: color crystal. Her look is bold and warm and inviting; a combination that’s sure to stop traffic. So, maybe they should change the saying to “a crystal is forever”. Well, at least a crystal Anne et Valentin… when it works this well.
GOGOSHA OPTIQUE: Frame of the Day

Why we’re loving this frame: THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT! Hey, what’s not to love? Unbreakable eyewear for the design conscious junior of the house…
“Eye’DC proudly presents Eye’DJ, a sharp looking line for 7/12 year-old’s who know that looks matter. We’re talking web surfers, vlog auteur’s and cyber princesses here. GOGOSHA OPTIQUE: Frame of the Day
Series: Collection sun no.2
Origin: Berlin
Designer: Harald Gottschling, Philipp Haffmans
Frame: Fletcher
Color: red/ gold hinge
Material: Acetate
Why we’re loving this frame: It’s big and substatial without being cumbersome. It has a gold metal snap-hinge (meaning no screws to loose). And it’s red, and we love red (other colors available for red haters). Small heads may need to look elsewhere… This is the perfect frame for that bold and daring person who wants all the right attention.
GOGOSHA OPTIQUE FACE OF THE DAY: SAVANNAH DOOLEY
Oh what the heck, we couldn’t choose just one. How could you?! Savannah Dooley not only has character (as seen), she’s downright fabulous!! I think we did well with both of her Kirk Originals: Jade: 29/123 and Sylvia: black/torquoise glitter, don’t you? Oh who cares if you do, we do!!! Savannah is a rockstar. Rock on girl, rock on!!
GOGOSHA OPTIQUE FACE OF THE DAY: SHAUN SHAPIRO
School’s in session and Shaun’s in a class of his own.
You’re never too young to be hip and chic, and our student of the month is down with that credo. The proof… his new SALT optics: Alec: in black … and a note to all the school yard hotties… Single file please!
GOGOSHA OPTIQUE: FACE OF THE DAY: MARSHA CIFARELLI
Sometimes its just love at first sight. We think that This Kirk Originals Sylvia in G2 tort with gold glitter as the absolute perfect match for Marsha. The glitter fade and the orange tone on the of the tortoise couldn’t be more perfect. We love it when a frame finds its rightful owner.
GOGOSHA OPTIQUE FUZZY LOGIC: Glitter, thats right, glitter!
From subtle sparkles to unabashed diso fever, glitter is sprinkled throughout several collections this season. Glitter glasses inject a playfulness when worn with a classic fall wardrobe of tweeds and wools, and can instantly dress up Jeans and a T-shirt, no make-up necessary. Glitter is no longer just for craft project and exotic dancers. From left to right Anne et Valentin Drum color 616 Kirk Originals Pan color 1002 Cutler and Gross 896 color Gold
GOGOSHA OPTIQUE: Frame of the Day
Color: Tortoise to Crystal Fade
Material: acetate with raw titanium temple
Why we’re loving this frame: The Albert is part of the freshman class of RAPP LIMITED. The lucky few who know of this amazing collection have only been able to encounter it at RAPP’s own spectacular optique in the heart of Toronto, Canada. RAPP’s first collection has now launched to the outside world, and is only available in a dozen stores around the globe, gogosha optique is proud to be one of them. Each stunning frame is polished, milled and finished with an unparalleled expertise and obsession in RAPP’s workshop in Toronto. The texture of the matted acetate front echos the raw titanium temples, while the polished perimeter lets light reflect to highlight its subtle contours. All hail Rapp!
GOGOSHA OPTIQUE: FACE OF THE DAY: DAVID PEASE
It was a quiet Saturday morning in the small hamlet of Silver Lake, the soon to be roaring sun was still humbled by it’s early elevation. Within gogosha optique, the machinations and opening rituals were playing out in hushed economy. Suddenly the telephone rang, the day was about to change —
A few minutes later a handsome couple streaked into the optique, their wave of energy filling the place, the light suddenly seemed brighter, everything shone like burnished gold —
Enter David Pease and Bruce Burr two of Laguna Beach’s brilliant treasure’s — for an hour or more Julia, David and Bruce, wondered at shapes and materials, aesthetics and form — as an innocent bystander I was in awe of the relish, the passion, the sheer joy the trio found in the journey, the odyssey into optical enlightenment.
And as the waters calmed and the sirens voices faded, David appeared victorious and resplendent, with two new stories to tell — one of a bold THEO: VICTOR in colour RED-735 and another championing the Warhol inspired ANNE et VALENTIN: FACTORY ONE in colour 804 — both classics… which will echo through the ages —
Bruce’s tale is yet to be told, but until then you can admire his beautiful artwork.
GOGOSHA OPTIQUE: FACE OF THE DAY: WHITNEY BICKERS
That’s a RAPP! Rapp Limited that is… this fantastic new collection - hand made in Toronto - has been in the store for less than 24hrs and our ‘cookie queen’ has pounced. She is the first person to purchase a Rapp Limited frame from a U.S. based store… and baby do they look fabulous on her! Hand Crafted matted and polished acetate with raw titanium temples, these things are optical works of art.
RAPP Limited: FELINI… now roaming L.A. and SoCal on a gal called Whitney.
